Being diagnosed with an eye condition can be very confronting. It is our goal at The NSW Eye Centre to provide you with exceptional care in a friendly and supportive environment. Our nurses and support staff will always be on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your condition and your treatment.

After your surgery at The NSW Eye Centre, you will be taken to the Recovery Suite where our nurses will observe your recovery from the anaesthesia. Recovery periods vary from patient to patient but once you’re alert you will be moved to a comfortable recliner chair in our post-op lounge area and offered something light to eat and drink. Our post-op lounge area is a  peaceful, relaxed recovery area where patients can recuperate under the caring supervision of trained nursing staff.

Relatives are more than welcome to sit with you in this area until you are ready to leave.

When your recovery is complete, a member of our friendly nursing team will provide you with written discharge instructions and a Discharge Summary containing details of any special care you may require, as well as details of your post-op appointment with your doctor.

Your designated relative, friend or carer will then need to come and collect you from The Eye Centre and take you home.
